I was just wondering what is going through your minds about toy collecting?
Is it too easy now to build up a collection when we have access to ebay?
Do you still go out hunting for toys or is it not worth it?
Have your collections dropped in value or gone up?
Do you have stuff on display or is it all boxed away?
Do you collect new toys and how do they relate to the old ones?
Now that Takara has been sold to Tomy...will there ever be toys as cool as the ones from the 1980's.

I still enjoy it,but I like the challenge of finding the older toys,not just buying them off a shelf.Love finding something at a garage sale for 50c or similar and knowing the value.My all time best score was a box of 23 G1 Transformers for $25.00 - Later sold for $1326 :)
The scores were always a high point of around 5 years ago, we could almost guarantee a good find of cool toys every weekend...sadly they are few and far between now over here in Perth.
They are still out there though and I am always surprised when I come across them...even like the ones I found across the road at my neighbors garage sale this year!
I still love collecting, as jut666 says it's the thrill of the find, when something you'v been looking for shows up for a great price, unfortunatly i don't get to many garage sale so who know's what i could be missing out on there but i do gotto the alladins fair here in brisbane and i love ebay thats where a majority of my collection has come from.

And the AUS dollar being an all time high makes it great for buying from the USA!
I cant afford to spend anythink like how i used to. Atm I buy 1 figure every 3 months or so.
I even had to pack up all my old stuff and store it cos of the place i moved into.
Looking forward to 3 years time, finish uni and working full time, then ill get back into spending heaps and boosting collection again
It's pretty cool when you unpack your boxed up stuff and see what you have kept.
